Perplexity Computer posts what it found

Computer researches with sources. Add BuzzTake as a connector, and the research becomes a post, a thread or a reply, with the links in it, on your own accounts.

Perplexity Computer, sample run. Perplexity Computer researches nine sources, searches X, asks to post a four-part thread and posts it after the user agrees. The live thread shows, with its three sources listed.

What Perplexity Computer can do in your social accounts

Perplexity Computer is good at the first half of a post: finding what happened and where it is written. BuzzTake does the second half: it posts the result through your accounts and gives Computer the link back.

Computer can also read your accounts. search finds what people say about a topic on X, Bluesky or Reddit, and read_profile shows what a competitor posted this month, so the research includes the conversation on the platforms.

Computer's scheduled tasks run as often as every 15 minutes. A daily task can research a beat and plan a post as a draft that a person approves in BuzzTake.

BuzzTake has not yet tested Perplexity's OAuth sign-in. If it fails, use the API Key option of the connector, or a custom API credential with the REST API.

It works on X, LinkedIn, Bluesky, Reddit and Threads, and on every other platform BuzzTake connects. Each action is one tool, named as in the actions reference.

Jobs for Perplexity Computer

Say it in plain words. These are prompts that work, and the calls they make.

  1. A sourced thread on today's news

Computer researches a development in your field, writes a short thread with the sources as links, and posts it after you read it.

    3 × search12 credits ($0.12)

  3. A competitor's month

It reads the latest posts of three competitor profiles and lists their launches and offers.

Read the last 30 posts of @globex_demo, @initech_demo and @umbrella_demo on X. List their launches and offers by date.

    3 × read_profile12 credits ($0.12)

  4. A daily research draft

A scheduled task researches your beat each morning and plans one LinkedIn post as a draft for review.

Every weekday at 8:00, find the most important news about battery recycling, and plan a LinkedIn post about it as a BuzzTake draft for review.

1 × create_content10 credits for each draft that goes out

Set up Perplexity Computer

Computer runs in Perplexity's cloud and reaches BuzzTake there. Nothing is installed on your computer.

  1. Open Plugins

Open Plugins in the sidebar. Older accounts have it under Customize, Connectors.

  2. Add a remote connector

Select Add custom, then Add MCP connector, then Remote.

  3. Enter the server

Name: BuzzTake. URL: the server URL. Under Advanced, set Transport to Streamable HTTP and Authentication to OAuth.

    Server URL
    https://mcp.buzztake.com/mcp
  4. Sign in

Save, then sign in on BuzzTake and select Allow. Perplexity asks for a client ID and secret only when a server cannot register clients; BuzzTake can.

Ways to connect Perplexity Computer

The routes that reach BuzzTake from Perplexity Computer, and how well each one fits.

Remote MCP, OAuth sign-inNot tested

The connector with OAuth and dynamic client registration. BuzzTake has not tested this sign-in from Perplexity yet.

Remote MCP, API keyNot tested

The connector's API Key option with a key made under Developers. Perplexity does not say which header it sends; BuzzTake reads Authorization: Bearer btk1_....

REST APINot tested

Computer can keep a custom API credential, such as a header, and send it through its proxy. With Authorization: Bearer and the REST API, it can post with one call.

POST /v1/accounts/{id}/actions
curl https://api.buzztake.com/v1/accounts/$ACCOUNT_ID/actions \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $BUZZTAKE_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"type": "post", "text": "Version 2.4 is out.", "wait": 60}'

What it costs

BuzzTake charges in prepaid credits for the actions it runs. One credit is one US cent.

Credits for each job on this page
JobCreditsUSD
A sourced thread on today's news10$0.10
What people say about a topic12$0.12
A competitor's month12$0.12
A daily research draft10 per post$0.10 per post

A post, a quote or a message is 10 credits, a reply 8, a like or a follow 3, and a read or a search 4. A planned post costs nothing until it goes out. Reads are charged when they succeed, and a write that fails before the page changes is refunded.

Perplexity Computer's model use is billed by Perplexity, not by BuzzTake. Every price is on the pricing page, and the rules are in Credits.

Approvals and safety

A person can approve before anything goes out, and every action is recorded.

Computer asks before it uses a saved custom credential. With the MCP connector, ask Computer to show you the text before it posts, and keep a second check in BuzzTake with drafts and review.

In Enterprise, an administrator adds custom connectors under Organization settings, Connectors, and decides whether members may add their own. That choice is off by default.

  • Ask for drafts when a person must check first. create_content puts the post on the calendar, submit_for_review sends it to a reviewer, and it goes out only after the approval.
  • Give the agent an API key without the content_publish permission. It can then plan drafts and send them for review, and it cannot post by itself.
  • BuzzTake records every action: who asked, through which key, on which account, what the page returned and what it cost.
  • A sign-in step that BuzzTake cannot finish, such as a 2FA code, becomes a challenge. The agent asks you for the code, or gives you a link to a live browser where you answer it.
  • Only an owner or an administrator can allow an OAuth client. Disconnect it under Developers in the app, and its token stops working.

More in Approvals and Reports and audit.

Limits

  • Custom connectors are in Pro, Max and Enterprise accounts.
  • Scheduled tasks run as often as every 15 minutes, and each run uses Perplexity credits as well as BuzzTake credits for the actions.
  • An action tool waits up to 120 seconds for its result. A longer action comes back with its id, and get_action follows it to the end.
  • The MCP server runs up to 8 requests at a time for one key or sign-in. Above that it answers 429 with Retry-After, and the client tries again.
  • One organization connects up to 200 accounts.
  • The platforms set their own pace. When one asks an account to slow down, the action ends with rate_limited, and a write that failed before the page changed is refunded.

Troubleshooting

Every error code and its fix is in Errors and challenges.

The OAuth sign-in fails
Use the API Key option with a BuzzTake key made under Developers, or tell us through the feedback route so we can test the case.
The connector is off in Enterprise
A new organization connector starts off. An administrator turns it on under Organization settings, Connectors.
The client says the server refused the token (401)
The sign-in expired or was revoked, or the API key is wrong. Sign in again from the client, or make a new key under Developers.
An action stops at needs_input
The platform asked for a code. Give the code to the agent so it calls answer_challenge, or open the challenge's sign_in_url and answer in the live browser.
The answer is insufficient_credits
The balance is lower than the price, and nothing was queued. A post needs 10 credits. Top up, then ask again.
The answer is unsupported
The platform has no such action. The error lists the actions it has, and the generic browser action can do the rest step by step.
An account shows signed_out
Its session ended and no stored password could sign it in again. Ask the agent for a sign-in link with get_sign_in_link and open it, or reconnect the account in the app.

Yes, with BuzzTake as a remote MCP connector. Computer can post, reply and read your accounts on 12 platforms, and put its sources in the post.
Does Perplexity need a client ID and secret for BuzzTake?
No. BuzzTake supports dynamic client registration, so the connector registers itself. A client ID and secret are only for servers that cannot.

Yes. The search tool finds posts or people on a platform through your account, and read_post reads a post with its replies. Each read is 4 credits.
What does a sourced thread cost?
A thread is one post action, 10 credits. Research reads such as a search are 4 credits each. Perplexity's own use is billed by Perplexity.
