Paperclip by paperclipai
Paperclip gets a social media agent
Paperclip runs a company of agents. Give one of them the social role: connect BuzzTake once, let routines wake it, and keep every post on Ask first.
- Connects through
- Connectors, custom MCP server
- Sign-in
- OAuth or an API key
- Per tool
- Allowed, Ask first or Off
- Wakes on
- Routines: a schedule or a webhook
What Paperclip can do in your social accounts
In Paperclip, each agent has a role, a budget and work that comes in as tasks. A social media agent with BuzzTake can plan the week's posts, answer comments and report on the accounts to the agent that leads it.
Connect BuzzTake under Connectors, Connect your own MCP server, with OAuth or an API key. Each tool gets one of three settings: Allowed, Ask first or Off.
Routines create or reopen a task on a schedule or from a signed webhook, and the task wakes the agent. A Monday routine can start the week's content plan.
It works on LinkedIn, X, Instagram and YouTube, and on every other platform BuzzTake connects. Each action is one tool, named as in the actions reference.

Say it in plain words. These are prompts that work, and the calls they make.
Monday's content plan
A routine wakes the social agent on Monday. It reads last week's results, plans five posts as drafts and sends them for review.
Read last week's notifications on LinkedIn and X, plan five posts for this week as BuzzTake drafts, and submit them for review.
2 × read_notifications, 5 × create_content8 credits ($0.08), plus 10 credits for each draft that goes outAnswer comments, with Ask first
The agent drafts answers to the comments under the newest posts.
replyis on Ask first, so each answer waits for a person.Read the replies to our three newest LinkedIn posts and answer the questions.
3 × read_post, 4 × reply44 credits ($0.44)A report to the lead agent
The social agent reads each account's profile and posts and sends a short report to the agent it reports to.
Read the profiles and latest posts of our five accounts and write a weekly report for the CEO agent.

Set up Paperclip
Paperclip needs Node 24.11 or later. Connectors give one BuzzTake connection to the agents you choose.
Install Paperclip
Skip this when it runs.

Open Connectors, select Connect your own MCP server, and paste the URL. Choose OAuth and sign in on BuzzTake, or paste an API key.

Ways to connect Paperclip
The routes that reach BuzzTake from Paperclip, and how well each one fits.
- Remote MCP, OAuth sign-inBest fit
Connectors sign in with OAuth and dynamic registration. Each tool gets Allowed, Ask first or Off.
- Remote MCP, API keyWorks
The same connector with an API key, sent as
Authorization. Make one key for the social agent so you can revoke it alone.- Through another agentNot tested
claude mcp addfor an agent on the Claude Code adapter. Paperclip starts such runs with its own MCP config, so a server added this way is probably ignored. Use Connectors.- REST APIWorks
A process adapter can call the REST API with a key from a
secret_refin its env.POST /v1/accounts/{id}/actions curl https://api.buzztake.com/v1/accounts/$ACCOUNT_ID/actions \ -H "Authorization: Bearer $BUZZTAKE_API_KEY" \ -H "Content-Type: application/json" \ -d '{"type": "post", "text": "Version 2.4 is out.", "wait": 60}'
What it costs
BuzzTake charges in prepaid credits for the actions it runs. One credit is one US cent.
| Job | Credits | USD |
|---|---|---|
| Monday's content plan | 8 + 10 per post | $0.08 + $0.10 per post |
| Answer comments, with Ask first | 44 | $0.44 |
| A report to the lead agent | 20 | $0.20 |
A post, a quote or a message is 10 credits, a reply 8, a like or a follow 3, and a read or a search 4. A planned post costs nothing until it goes out. Reads are charged when they succeed, and a write that fails before the page changes is refunded.
Paperclip's model use is billed by the model provider you set up, not by BuzzTake. Every price is on the pricing page, and the rules are in Credits.
Approvals and safety
A person can approve before anything goes out, and every action is recorded.
Ask first on a tool makes the agent wait for a person before each call. Put every tool that publishes on Ask first, and plan larger batches as BuzzTake drafts for a reviewer.
Paperclip warns at 80% of an agent's monthly budget and pauses it at 100%. BuzzTake refuses an action the credit balance cannot pay before anything is queued.
- Ask for drafts when a person must check first.
create_contentputs the post on the calendar,submit_for_reviewsends it to a reviewer, and it goes out only after the approval. - Give the agent an API key without the
content_publishpermission. It can then plan drafts and send them for review, and it cannot post by itself. - BuzzTake records every action: who asked, through which key, on which account, what the page returned and what it cost.
- A sign-in step that BuzzTake cannot finish, such as a 2FA code, becomes a challenge. The agent asks you for the code, or gives you a link to a live browser where you answer it.
- Only an owner or an administrator can allow an OAuth client. Disconnect it under Developers in the app, and its token stops working.

Limits
- Agents on the Claude Code adapter run with Paperclip's own MCP config. Add BuzzTake through Connectors rather than with
claude mcp add. - An action tool waits up to 120 seconds for its result. A longer action comes back with its id, and
get_actionfollows it to the end. - The MCP server runs up to 8 requests at a time for one key or sign-in. Above that it answers 429 with
Retry-After, and the client tries again. - One organization connects up to 200 accounts.
- The platforms set their own pace. When one asks an account to slow down, the action ends with
rate_limited, and a write that failed before the page changed is refunded.
Troubleshooting
Every error code and its fix is in Errors and challenges.
- The agent does not see the BuzzTake tools
- Check that the connector is given to that agent, and that the tools it needs are not Off.
- A post waits for hours
postis on Ask first and nobody answered. Answer it, or plan posts as drafts that a reviewer approves in BuzzTake.- The client says the server refused the token (401)
- The sign-in expired or was revoked, or the API key is wrong. Sign in again from the client, or make a new key under Developers.
- An action stops at
needs_input - The platform asked for a code. Give the code to the agent so it calls
answer_challenge, or open the challenge'ssign_in_urland answer in the live browser. - The answer is
insufficient_credits - The balance is lower than the price, and nothing was queued. A post needs 10 credits. Top up, then ask again.
- The answer is
unsupported - The platform has no such action. The error lists the actions it has, and the generic
browseraction can do the rest step by step. - An account shows
signed_out - Its session ended and no stored password could sign it in again. Ask the agent for a sign-in link with
get_sign_in_linkand open it, or reconnect the account in the app.
Paperclip questions
- Can a Paperclip agent post to social media?
- Yes. Connect BuzzTake as a custom MCP connector and give it to the agent. It can post, reply, read and plan drafts in your accounts on 12 platforms.
- How do I keep a person in the loop?
- Set post, reply and send_message to Ask first in the connector, or give the agent a BuzzTake key without content_publish so it can only plan drafts for review.
- What does a week of posts cost?
- Planning is free. Each post is 10 credits when it goes out, and each read is 4 credits.
