Claude, sample run. A Claude chat. The user asks Claude to post the launch note to LinkedIn and Threads. Claude asks to use the BuzzTake post tool, the user selects Allow once, and two posts go live at 10 credits each.

What Claude can do in your social accounts

Claude is where many people write: the launch note, the reply to a hard comment, the summary of a long thread. With BuzzTake as a connector, Claude can also act on it in your accounts, with the post, reply and send_message tools.

The connection starts in Anthropic's cloud, so a connector you add on claude.ai also works in Claude Desktop and in the mobile apps. BuzzTake runs in the cloud as well, and nothing is installed on your computer.

Every Claude account can add a custom connector; a free account can add one. Each tool has its own permission, so posts can need your approval while reads run without asking.

It works on LinkedIn, Threads, X, Instagram and Bluesky, and on every other platform BuzzTake connects. Each action is one tool, named as in the actions reference.

Set up Claude

Do this once, on claude.ai or in Claude Desktop. The connector then works in the mobile apps too.

  1. Open Connectors

Open Customize, Connectors, and select Add custom connector. In a Team or Enterprise organization, an owner adds it under Organization settings, Connectors, Add, Custom, Web.

  2. Enter the server

Name it BuzzTake and paste the server URL.

    Server URL
    https://mcp.buzztake.com/mcp
  3. Pick the sign-in

  4. Connect

Select Add, then Connect. BuzzTake opens: sign in, check the permissions and select Allow.

  5. Set the tool permissions

Open the connector's tool permissions. Set post, reply, send_message and delete_post to Needs approval, and the reads to Always allow.

  6. Turn it on in a chat

In a chat, select the + button, open Connectors and turn on BuzzTake. Then ask.

    Prompt
List my BuzzTake accounts and read the latest notifications on LinkedIn.

Ways to connect Claude

The routes that reach BuzzTake from Claude, and how well each one fits.

Remote MCP, OAuth sign-inBest fit

A custom connector with Sign in now and Register automatically. Claude keeps the token and renews it.

Remote MCP, API keyWorks

For organizations that have request headers, a beta that an owner sets up: choose No sign-in and add the header Authorization with the value Bearer btk1_.... The sign-in cannot be changed after the connector is added.

Local stdio bridgeWorks

Claude Desktop also starts local servers from claude_desktop_config.json (Settings, Developer, Edit Config). The mcp-remote package bridges such a local entry to BuzzTake. The custom connector is simpler.

REST APIDoes not work

Claude's code tool runs on Anthropic's servers, not on your computer, and has no place for your key. Use the connector.

What it costs

BuzzTake charges in prepaid credits for the actions it runs. One credit is one US cent.

Credits for each job on this page

Publish the launch note20$0.20
Answer a hard comment12$0.12
Sum up a long thread4$0.04
Reply to customers in the inbox40$0.40
Plan the month for review10 per post$0.10 per post

A post, a quote or a message is 10 credits, a reply 8, a like or a follow 3, and a read or a search 4. A planned post costs nothing until it goes out. Reads are charged when they succeed, and a write that fails before the page changes is refunded.

Claude's model use is billed by Anthropic, not by BuzzTake. Every price is on the pricing page, and the rules are in Credits.

Approvals and safety

A person can approve before anything goes out, and every action is recorded.

Each connector tool has one of three permissions: Always allow, Needs approval or Blocked. In a chat, a tool that needs approval asks with Allow once and Always allow.

Set every write tool to Needs approval, and block the ones you never want Claude to use, such as delete_post or block.

  • Ask for drafts when a person must check first. create_content puts the post on the calendar, submit_for_review sends it to a reviewer, and it goes out only after the approval.
  • Give the agent an API key without the content_publish permission. It can then plan drafts and send them for review, and it cannot post by itself.
  • BuzzTake records every action: who asked, through which key, on which account, what the page returned and what it cost.
  • A sign-in step that BuzzTake cannot finish, such as a 2FA code, becomes a challenge. The agent asks you for the code, or gives you a link to a live browser where you answer it.
  • Only an owner or an administrator can allow an OAuth client. Disconnect it under Developers in the app, and its token stops working.

More in Approvals and Reports and audit.

Limits

  • A free Claude account can add one custom connector. Pro, Max, Ultra, Team and Enterprise accounts can add more.
  • In a Team organization, only owners and primary owners add connectors; members then select Connect.
  • An action tool waits up to 120 seconds for its result. A longer action comes back with its id, and get_action follows it to the end.
  • The MCP server runs up to 8 requests at a time for one key or sign-in. Above that it answers 429 with Retry-After, and the client tries again.
  • One organization connects up to 200 accounts.
  • The platforms set their own pace. When one asks an account to slow down, the action ends with rate_limited, and a write that failed before the page changed is refunded.

Troubleshooting

Every error code and its fix is in Errors and challenges.

Connect fails after the BuzzTake page
Only an owner or an administrator of the BuzzTake organization can allow an app. Ask one of them to connect, or to make you an administrator.
Claude does not use the tools
Turn BuzzTake on for the chat under the + button, Connectors, and name BuzzTake in the request.
The client says the server refused the token (401)
The sign-in expired or was revoked, or the API key is wrong. Sign in again from the client, or make a new key under Developers.
An action stops at needs_input
The platform asked for a code. Give the code to the agent so it calls answer_challenge, or open the challenge's sign_in_url and answer in the live browser.
The answer is insufficient_credits
The balance is lower than the price, and nothing was queued. A post needs 10 credits. Top up, then ask again.
The answer is unsupported
The platform has no such action. The error lists the actions it has, and the generic browser action can do the rest step by step.
An account shows signed_out
Its session ended and no stored password could sign it in again. Ask the agent for a sign-in link with get_sign_in_link and open it, or reconnect the account in the app.

Claude questions

Can Claude post to social media?
Yes. With BuzzTake added as a custom connector, Claude posts, replies, likes and sends direct messages through your own accounts on X, LinkedIn, Instagram and nine more platforms.
Does the connector work in the Claude mobile app?
Yes. The connection starts in Anthropic's cloud, so a connector you add on claude.ai or in Claude Desktop also works in the iOS and Android apps.
Can I stop Claude from posting without asking?
Yes. Set the post, reply and message tools to Needs approval in the connector's tool permissions. Claude then asks every time, and you can still use BuzzTake approvals for a second person.
What does it cost?
BuzzTake charges 10 credits for a post, 8 for a reply and 4 for a read, at one US cent per credit. Claude itself is billed by Anthropic.
