Kimi sorts every reply into themes

Kimi Code holds a long context. With BuzzTake it reads the replies to ten launch posts, a hundred each, and gives you the themes, the counts and the answers worth sending.

Kimi K3, sample run. Kimi Code in a terminal reads the replies to ten launch posts through BuzzTake, a thousand in all, writes a themes file, and lists the themes with counts: export, pricing, offline mode and a Linux build.

What Kimi K3 can do in your social accounts

Kimi Code runs Moonshot's K3 models in the terminal; K3 is the previous flagship and k3.1-pro the current one. Its long context fits the replies to many posts at once, which makes it good at the reading half of social work.

read_post returns a post with up to 100 replies, and read_conversation a whole DM thread. Kimi reads them through BuzzTake, writes the themes to a file in your project, and drafts answers for you to send.

In Kimi Code's Ask When Needed mode, MCP calls are approved by themselves, and kimi -p asks no one. Keep a person in the loop with BuzzTake: plan posts as drafts, and use a key that cannot post for headless runs.

It works on X, Instagram, Reddit, YouTube and TikTok, and on every other platform BuzzTake connects. Each action is one tool, named as in the actions reference.

Set up Kimi K3

Kimi Code runs on your computer and reaches BuzzTake over the internet.

  1. Install Kimi Code

    Then start kimi and run /login. npm also works: npm install -g @moonshot-ai/kimi-code.

    Terminal
    curl -fsSL https://code.kimi.com/kimi-code/install.sh | bash
  2. Add the server

    Or run /mcp-config in kimi. An entry with url and no transport is streamable HTTP. A project can have its own .kimi-code/mcp.json.

    ~/.kimi-code/mcp.json
    {
      "mcpServers": {
        "buzztake": {
          "url": "https://mcp.buzztake.com/mcp"
        }
      }
    }
  3. Sign in

    Run this in kimi and select Allow on BuzzTake. /mcp shows the status.

    In kimi
    /mcp-config login buzztake
  4. Ask

    Listing accounts is free.

    Prompt
    List my BuzzTake accounts.

Ways to connect Kimi K3

The routes that reach BuzzTake from Kimi K3, and how well each one fits.

Remote MCP, OAuth sign-inBest fit

/mcp-config login signs in in the browser and keeps the token.

Remote MCP, API keyWorks

Export BUZZTAKE_API_KEY and name it in the entry. Kimi sends it as a Bearer token.

~/.kimi-code/mcp.json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "buzztake": {
      "url": "https://mcp.buzztake.com/mcp",
      "bearerTokenEnvVar": "BUZZTAKE_API_KEY"
    }
  }
}
REST APIWorks

The shell tool can run curl and write the JSON to a file for Kimi to read.

POST /v1/accounts/{id}/actions
curl https://api.buzztake.com/v1/accounts/$ACCOUNT_ID/actions \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $BUZZTAKE_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"type": "post", "text": "Version 2.4 is out.", "wait": 60}'

What it costs

BuzzTake charges in prepaid credits for the actions it runs. One credit is one US cent.

Credits for each job on this page
JobCreditsUSD
Sort the replies to a launch40$0.40
Triage a full inbox84$0.84
Answers for the top questions40$0.40
Who follows two competitors8$0.08

A post, a quote or a message is 10 credits, a reply 8, a like or a follow 3, and a read or a search 4. A planned post costs nothing until it goes out. Reads are charged when they succeed, and a write that fails before the page changes is refunded.

Kimi K3's model use is billed by Moonshot AI, not by BuzzTake. Every price is on the pricing page, and the rules are in Credits.

Approvals and safety

A person can approve before anything goes out, and every action is recorded.

Kimi approves MCP calls by itself in Ask When Needed mode, and kimi -p requests no human approval. Deny rules still apply.

So the person in the loop is BuzzTake's: a key with inbox_read and content_write reads and plans drafts, and a reviewer approves each post.

  • Ask for drafts when a person must check first. create_content puts the post on the calendar, submit_for_review sends it to a reviewer, and it goes out only after the approval.
  • Give the agent an API key without the content_publish permission. It can then plan drafts and send them for review, and it cannot post by itself.
  • BuzzTake records every action: who asked, through which key, on which account, what the page returned and what it cost.
  • A sign-in step that BuzzTake cannot finish, such as a 2FA code, becomes a challenge. The agent asks you for the code, or gives you a link to a live browser where you answer it.
  • Only an owner or an administrator can allow an OAuth client. Disconnect it under Developers in the app, and its token stops working.

More in Approvals and Reports and audit.

Limits

  • read_post returns up to 100 replies per post, and limit on list reads is 1 to 100.
  • Kimi Code's cron jobs belong to their session: 50 per session, and recurring ones end after 7 days.
  • In a headless run, project-level servers stay off until the folder is trusted with KIMI_CODE_TRUST_WORKSPACE=1.
  • An action tool waits up to 120 seconds for its result. A longer action comes back with its id, and get_action follows it to the end.
  • The MCP server runs up to 8 requests at a time for one key or sign-in. Above that it answers 429 with Retry-After, and the client tries again.
  • One organization connects up to 200 accounts.
  • The platforms set their own pace. When one asks an account to slow down, the action ends with rate_limited, and a write that failed before the page changed is refunded.

Troubleshooting

Every error code and its fix is in Errors and challenges.

kimi.com does not show BuzzTake
kimi.com documents no custom MCP servers. Use Kimi Code, or the Plugin Builder in Kimi Work.
kimi mcp add does not exist
That command was in the archived Python CLI. Kimi Code uses mcp.json or /mcp-config.
The client says the server refused the token (401)
The sign-in expired or was revoked, or the API key is wrong. Sign in again from the client, or make a new key under Developers.
An action stops at needs_input
The platform asked for a code. Give the code to the agent so it calls answer_challenge, or open the challenge's sign_in_url and answer in the live browser.
The answer is insufficient_credits
The balance is lower than the price, and nothing was queued. A post needs 10 credits. Top up, then ask again.
The answer is unsupported
The platform has no such action. The error lists the actions it has, and the generic browser action can do the rest step by step.
An account shows signed_out
Its session ended and no stored password could sign it in again. Ask the agent for a sign-in link with get_sign_in_link and open it, or reconnect the account in the app.

Kimi K3 questions

Can Kimi K3 read my social media replies?
Yes, through Kimi Code with the BuzzTake MCP server. It reads posts with up to 100 replies each, DM threads, notifications and profiles in your own accounts.
Will Kimi post without asking?
In Ask When Needed mode, Kimi approves MCP calls by itself. Use a BuzzTake key without content_publish, so it can read and plan drafts but not post.
What does reading 1,000 replies cost?
Ten read_post calls with 100 replies each, 40 credits. Kimi's own use is billed by Moonshot AI.
