ChatGPT by OpenAI
ChatGPT turns a chat into a live post
Add BuzzTake as a custom MCP plugin, and the chat where you wrote the post can publish it, answer the comments and read your direct messages, through your own accounts.

What ChatGPT can do in your social accounts
You already draft posts with ChatGPT. With BuzzTake as a plugin, the same chat can publish them. ChatGPT calls the post tool with the text and the account, and the link to the live post comes back in its answer.
ChatGPT works from OpenAI's cloud, and so does BuzzTake: nothing runs on your computer. Each of your accounts signs in once in a remote browser at BuzzTake, so ChatGPT never sees a password and needs no platform API key.
OpenAI gives custom MCP plugins with write tools to Business, Enterprise and Edu workspaces. A Pro account gets the read and fetch tools only: enough to read feeds, notifications and inboxes, not to post.
It works on LinkedIn, X, Instagram, Threads and Facebook, and on every other platform BuzzTake connects. Each action is one tool, named as in the actions reference.
Jobs for ChatGPT
Say it in plain words. These are prompts that work, and the calls they make.
Publish the post you wrote together
After a few rounds of edits, ChatGPT posts the final text where you say, and shortens it where the platform needs it.
@BuzzTake Post the final version above to our LinkedIn page. Shorten it to one post for X and post that too.

ChatGPT reads the replies under your latest posts, drafts an answer to each question and posts the answers you approve in the chat.

ChatGPT plans one post a day for three platforms on the BuzzTake calendar and sends them for review, so a person approves each one.

Set up ChatGPT
Do this once, on chatgpt.com in a browser. OpenAI's help says that adding a custom server works on the web only.
Open Plugins
Go to
chatgpt.com/plugins, select the plus button, then Add custom MCP server. You do not need developer mode.Enter the server
Name it BuzzTake. Under Connection, paste the server URL, and set authentication to OAuth.
Server URL https://mcp.buzztake.com/mcpCreate the plugin
Read the warning, tick I understand and want to continue, then select Create as a plugin. In a Business workspace only admins and owners can do this.
Install it and sign in
Install the plugin from your plugins. ChatGPT opens BuzzTake: sign in, check the app name and the permissions, and select Allow.
Mention it in a chat
Type
@, pick BuzzTake, and ask. Start with a read, which changes nothing.Prompt @BuzzTake List my accounts, then read the latest 10 notifications on LinkedIn.
Ways to connect ChatGPT
The routes that reach BuzzTake from ChatGPT, and how well each one fits.
- Remote MCP, OAuth sign-inBest fit
ChatGPT signs in with OAuth 2.1 and PKCE, and registers itself with BuzzTake. There is no key to paste.
- Remote MCP, API keyDoes not work
ChatGPT does not send custom API keys to an MCP server. Use the OAuth sign-in.
- Local stdio bridgeDoes not work
ChatGPT on the web connects to remote servers only and starts nothing on your computer.
- REST APIDoes not work
A chat has no shell to run curl from. For scripts, use the REST API directly.
What it costs
BuzzTake charges in prepaid credits for the actions it runs. One credit is one US cent.
| Job | Credits | USD |
|---|---|---|
| Publish the post you wrote together | 20 | $0.20 |
| Answer this week's comments | 44 | $0.44 |
| Sort the Instagram inbox | 54 | $0.54 |
| Turn an article into a week of drafts | 10 per post | $0.10 per post |
| Hear what people say about a launch | 8 | $0.08 |
A post, a quote or a message is 10 credits, a reply 8, a like or a follow 3, and a read or a search 4. A planned post costs nothing until it goes out. Reads are charged when they succeed, and a write that fails before the page changes is refunded.
ChatGPT's model use is billed by OpenAI, not by BuzzTake. Every price is on the pricing page, and the rules are in Credits.
Approvals and safety
A person can approve before anything goes out, and every action is recorded.
ChatGPT can ask you to confirm before an important action, based on the plugin's permissions and the action. BuzzTake marks every read tool as read-only and every write tool as one that reaches the outside world, which is what such a check reads.
In a Business workspace, admins and owners decide who adds a plugin with an MCP server. In Enterprise and Edu, an admin gives the Create plugins with MCPs permission.
- Ask for drafts when a person must check first.
create_contentputs the post on the calendar,submit_for_reviewsends it to a reviewer, and it goes out only after the approval. - Give the agent an API key without the
content_publishpermission. It can then plan drafts and send them for review, and it cannot post by itself. - BuzzTake records every action: who asked, through which key, on which account, what the page returned and what it cost.
- A sign-in step that BuzzTake cannot finish, such as a 2FA code, becomes a challenge. The agent asks you for the code, or gives you a link to a live browser where you answer it.
- Only an owner or an administrator can allow an OAuth client. Disconnect it under Developers in the app, and its token stops working.
More in Approvals and Reports and audit.
Limits
- Write tools need a Business, Enterprise or Edu workspace. A Pro account gets read and fetch tools only, and OpenAI's article does not list Plus.
- A custom server is added on chatgpt.com in a browser. The mobile apps cannot add one.
- An action tool waits up to 120 seconds for its result. A longer action comes back with its id, and
get_actionfollows it to the end. - The MCP server runs up to 8 requests at a time for one key or sign-in. Above that it answers 429 with
Retry-After, and the client tries again. - One organization connects up to 200 accounts.
- The platforms set their own pace. When one asks an account to slow down, the action ends with
rate_limited, and a write that failed before the page changed is refunded.
Troubleshooting
Every error code and its fix is in Errors and challenges.
- BuzzTake is not in the
@list - Install the plugin from your plugins first, then start a new chat.
- ChatGPT reads but does not post
- The account has the read and fetch tools only. Write tools need a Business, Enterprise or Edu workspace.
- Add custom MCP server is missing
- In a Business workspace only admins and owners can add one. In Enterprise and Edu, an admin must give you Create plugins with MCPs.
- The client says the server refused the token (401)
- The sign-in expired or was revoked, or the API key is wrong. Sign in again from the client, or make a new key under Developers.
- An action stops at
needs_input - The platform asked for a code. Give the code to the agent so it calls
answer_challenge, or open the challenge'ssign_in_urland answer in the live browser. - The answer is
insufficient_credits - The balance is lower than the price, and nothing was queued. A post needs 10 credits. Top up, then ask again.
- The answer is
unsupported - The platform has no such action. The error lists the actions it has, and the generic
browseraction can do the rest step by step. - An account shows
signed_out - Its session ended and no stored password could sign it in again. Ask the agent for a sign-in link with
get_sign_in_linkand open it, or reconnect the account in the app.
ChatGPT questions
- Can ChatGPT post to social media for me?
- Yes. With BuzzTake added as a custom MCP plugin, ChatGPT posts, replies, likes and sends direct messages through your own accounts on 12 platforms. Write tools need a Business, Enterprise or Edu workspace.
- Can I connect BuzzTake with an API key instead of OAuth?
- No. ChatGPT does not send custom API keys to MCP servers. It signs in to BuzzTake with OAuth, and an owner or administrator of your BuzzTake organization allows it once.
- Does ChatGPT see my social media passwords?
- No. Each account signs in once in a remote browser at BuzzTake. ChatGPT gets a BuzzTake token that can run actions, and never a password or a cookie.
- What does a post from ChatGPT cost?
- 10 credits, which is ten US cents, charged by BuzzTake when the post runs. A reply is 8 credits and a read is 4. ChatGPT's own use is billed by OpenAI.
