Gemini by Google
Gemini posts from the terminal or the app
One MCP server for three Gemini tools: Gemini CLI and Antigravity CLI in the terminal, and custom apps in the Gemini app on the web and the phone.
- Connects through
- Remote MCP, OAuth sign-in
- Gemini CLI
httpUrlin~/.gemini/settings.json- Antigravity CLI
serverUrlinmcp_config.json- Gemini app

What Gemini can do in your social accounts
Since 18 June 2026, Gemini CLI serves API-key users and existing Code Assist licenses, and personal Google accounts use Antigravity CLI. Both take remote MCP servers, with different config keys: httpUrl in Gemini CLI, serverUrl in Antigravity.
In the Gemini app, a custom app connects to an MCP server by its URL. You add it on the web, and it then works in the mobile app too. Gemini asks you to confirm every write action, so a post or a reply waits for you.
In the terminal, Gemini works next to your project: it can post the release notes it just wrote, read the comments under your newest YouTube video, or plan next week's posts from a file.
It works on X, Bluesky, YouTube, LinkedIn and Reddit, and on every other platform BuzzTake connects. Each action is one tool, named as in the actions reference.
Jobs for Gemini
Say it in plain words. These are prompts that work, and the calls they make.
Post from Gemini CLI after a build
Gemini reads the release notes in the repo and posts a short version to X and Bluesky.
Read RELEASE.md and post a short summary to our X and Bluesky accounts with BuzzTake.
2 × post20 credits ($0.20)Check mentions from your phone
In the Gemini app, ask what people said about you today. Gemini reads the notifications on two platforms and sums them up.
With BuzzTake, read my LinkedIn and Instagram notifications from today and tell me what needs an answer.
2 × read_notifications8 credits ($0.08)Answer comments on a YouTube video
Gemini reads the comments under the video, drafts an answer to each question and replies after you confirm.
Read the comments under our newest YouTube video and reply to the three questions about setup.
1 × read_post, 3 × reply28 credits ($0.28)A daily check in Antigravity
/scheduleruns a task on a cron line in the conversation. A weekday check reads your Reddit notifications and sums them up./schedule 0 9 * * 1-5 Read my Reddit notifications with BuzzTake and sum up the new replies.
1 × read_notifications4 credits ($0.04)Plan the week from a file
Gemini turns a list of topics into drafts on the BuzzTake calendar and sends them for review.
Turn topics.md into one LinkedIn post a day next week as BuzzTake drafts, and submit them for review.
5 × create_content10 credits for each draft that goes out
Set up Gemini
Pick the Gemini you use. Each one keeps its own config, and each signs in to BuzzTake once.
Gemini CLI: add the server
Both flags matter: without
--transport httpthe CLI expects a local command, and without--scope userthe server is for this project only.Terminal gemini mcp add --transport http --scope user buzztake https://mcp.buzztake.com/mcpGemini CLI: sign in
Start
gemini. On the first call BuzzTake opens in your browser; sign in and select Allow./mcp auth buzztakesigns in again.Antigravity CLI: add the server
Antigravity reads
serverUrlorurl, nothttpUrl. A project can have its own file in.agents/mcp_config.json.~/.gemini/config/mcp_config.json { "mcpServers": { "buzztake": { "serverUrl": "https://mcp.buzztake.com/mcp" } } }Antigravity: sign in
Antigravity registers itself with BuzzTake. Google documents the sign-in in the Antigravity app, under Agent settings, Customizations, Authenticate. If it does not finish in the CLI, use the API key header below.
/mcpshows the status.Gemini app: add a custom app
On gemini.google.com, open Settings, Connected Apps (or Personal Intelligence, Connected Apps), then Custom apps, Add a custom app. Enter the URL, select Next and sign in on BuzzTake.

Ways to connect Gemini
The routes that reach BuzzTake from Gemini, and how well each one fits.
- Remote MCP, OAuth sign-inBest fit
All three register themselves with BuzzTake and sign in in the browser. The Gemini app supports OAuth only.
- Remote MCP, API keyWorks
Gemini CLI and Antigravity send headers. Gemini CLI reads
BUZZTAKE_API_KEYfrom the environment whensettings.jsonnames it.~/.gemini/settings.json { "mcpServers": { "buzztake": { "httpUrl": "https://mcp.buzztake.com/mcp", "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer ${BUZZTAKE_API_KEY}" } } } }- REST APIWorks
Gemini CLI can run curl with its shell tool, after a confirmation. MCP is simpler.
POST /v1/accounts/{id}/actions curl https://api.buzztake.com/v1/accounts/$ACCOUNT_ID/actions \ -H "Authorization: Bearer $BUZZTAKE_API_KEY" \ -H "Content-Type: application/json" \ -d '{"type": "post", "text": "Version 2.4 is out.", "wait": 60}'
What it costs
BuzzTake charges in prepaid credits for the actions it runs. One credit is one US cent.
| Job | Credits | USD |
|---|---|---|
| Post from Gemini CLI after a build | 20 | $0.20 |
| Check mentions from your phone | 8 | $0.08 |
| Answer comments on a YouTube video | 28 | $0.28 |
| A daily check in Antigravity | 4 | $0.04 |
| Plan the week from a file | 10 per post | $0.10 per post |
A post, a quote or a message is 10 credits, a reply 8, a like or a follow 3, and a read or a search 4. A planned post costs nothing until it goes out. Reads are charged when they succeed, and a write that fails before the page changes is refunded.
Gemini's model use is billed by Google, not by BuzzTake. Every price is on the pricing page, and the rules are in Credits.
Approvals and safety
A person can approve before anything goes out, and every action is recorded.
Gemini CLI asks before each MCP tool call unless the server is trusted. Do not set trust: true for BuzzTake: it skips every confirmation, posts included.
In Antigravity, MCP tools you have not set run in Ask mode. In the Gemini app, every write action needs your confirmation.
- Ask for drafts when a person must check first.
create_contentputs the post on the calendar,submit_for_reviewsends it to a reviewer, and it goes out only after the approval. - Give the agent an API key without the
content_publishpermission. It can then plan drafts and send them for review, and it cannot post by itself. - BuzzTake records every action: who asked, through which key, on which account, what the page returned and what it cost.
- A sign-in step that BuzzTake cannot finish, such as a 2FA code, becomes a challenge. The agent asks you for the code, or gives you a link to a live browser where you answer it.
- Only an owner or an administrator can allow an OAuth client. Disconnect it under Developers in the app, and its token stops working.

Limits
- Custom apps in the Gemini app need a personal Google Account in the US, age 18 or more, English and Keep Activity on. You add them on the web.
- In a headless
gemini -prun, a call that needs a confirmation is denied. Plan drafts in such runs, or allow only the tools the job needs. - An action tool waits up to 120 seconds for its result. A longer action comes back with its id, and
get_actionfollows it to the end. - The MCP server runs up to 8 requests at a time for one key or sign-in. Above that it answers 429 with
Retry-After, and the client tries again. - One organization connects up to 200 accounts.
- The platforms set their own pace. When one asks an account to slow down, the action ends with
rate_limited, and a write that failed before the page changed is refunded.
Troubleshooting
Every error code and its fix is in Errors and challenges.
- Gemini CLI finds no tools
- The entry uses
url, which means SSE in Gemini CLI. UsehttpUrl. - Antigravity ignores the server
- It reads
serverUrlorurlin~/.gemini/config/mcp_config.json, and nothttpUrl. - Custom apps is missing in the Gemini app
- Custom apps need a personal Google Account in the US, age 18 or more, English and Keep Activity on.
- The client says the server refused the token (401)
- The sign-in expired or was revoked, or the API key is wrong. Sign in again from the client, or make a new key under Developers.
- An action stops at
needs_input - The platform asked for a code. Give the code to the agent so it calls
answer_challenge, or open the challenge'ssign_in_urland answer in the live browser. - The answer is
insufficient_credits - The balance is lower than the price, and nothing was queued. A post needs 10 credits. Top up, then ask again.
- The answer is
unsupported - The platform has no such action. The error lists the actions it has, and the generic
browseraction can do the rest step by step. - An account shows
signed_out - Its session ended and no stored password could sign it in again. Ask the agent for a sign-in link with
get_sign_in_linkand open it, or reconnect the account in the app.
